Food Lion Trip 05-22

May-22-2008 By Ashley

I decided to have DH cook chicken tenders on the grill this evening so I ran to Food Lion to use my FLIPs (Food Lion Internet Printables). I also had a Cat for $2/$12 from the meat department. I had the cashier ring up everything and then handed him the Cat. I did not give him my MVP card until after he took off the Cat because my subtotal was not $12 with using the card but it was without using it. It worked like a charm. This deal turned out better than I expected:

2 FL Salsa – sale 1.09 (BOGO FLIP Q -1.89) .29/2
2 Gerber Nurser Bottles 1.14/bottle (FLIP $2 any Gerber Accessory) FREE w/ 1.72 overage
2 Kraft Cheese Slices – sale 2/$4 (FLIP $1 any Kraft slices) $2
3.72 lbs Fresh Ground Beef sale 1.39 & 1.49 lb ($1 off any $5 Beef FLIP) 5.32
2 FL Kids Flushable Wipes sale 1.25 (FLIP 1.50 any FL wipe) FREE w/ .50 overage
2 FL Bacon sale 1.79 (FLIP $1 FL bacon) – 3.58
3.24 lbs Chicken Breast Tenders sale 2.49/lb (FLIP $1 off FL Chicken) 8.06

Retail Total – 38.22
Sale and Coupons – 31.10
Subtotal – 7.12
Tax – .31
Total OOP – 7.43
Percentage Saved – 81%

I did pretty good on this one. The best part was I got another Cat for $2/$12 meat purchase. I get to do it all over again! Thank goodness I am getting my new freezer tomorrow!

May-22-2008 By Ashley

I am so glad that I have finally used all of the RR I got from Walgreens last week. It has been an exhausting week trying to use them all up. I think I used them pretty wisely but I am sure I could have done better somewhere. Here is how I put the last $10 to use:

Later on in the afternoon I decided to go back and get more of the Capri Suns while they are on sale and I knew there would be more Right Guard Deo. This was the best way to get my OOP lower on an already terriffic sale. Here is what I managed to do:

Today I hit the JACKPOT!!!

May-21-2008 By Ashley

Today I needed to use more of those wonderful Register Rewards that I got during that great P&G deal at Walgreens so I headed out to Harris Teeter and Walgreens again today. While I was out doing deals there I stopped off at CVS to get some more shopping done. I really stocked up for so little!

Harris Teeter

I had to do multiple shops here because I needed to use several coupons.

5 Cottonelle Wipes Refill – (sale 2/$4) 10.00 (.50 q doubled to 1.00) 5.00
18 Nesquick Ready to Drink – BOGO sale 16.20 (.50 q doubled to 1.00) 1.80
2 Cinnabon Mocha Latte – 3.18 (2 – .50 manu q doubled to 1.00) 1.18
4 Ramen Coice Noodles – (sale 3/$1) 1.34 (2 – .50/2 q doubled to 1.00) FREE w/ .66 overage
1 Coke Zero – 1.39

16 CoverGirl Items on Clearance – 29.70 (6 – 2.00/1 lip product q; 2 – 2.50/2 q; 2 – 1.00/1; 4 FREE blush w/ purchase 3 CG products) 2.34    *Retail for all of this was $95.34*

Retail Total – 206.08
Coupon and Sale – 200.44
Subtotal – 5.64
Tax – 3.25
Total OOP – 8.89
Percentage Saved – 96%

After I left Harris Teeter I went down the road to Walgreens and used up the last two $10 RR that were expiring that day.

Walgreens

I did not need anything so I just purchased items that were free after rebate. I can choose to “roll” my RR onto a Walgreens gift card (which will result in a 10% bonus) or I can request a check. The check can be cashed and used on other things – gas, more groceries or taking my kids bowling.

1 Walgreens Thin Maxi pads – sale – 1.99
1 Ear Rinse – sale – 9.99
1 Nexcare Cold Sore relief – sale – 8.99

Retail Total - 27.97
Coupons and Sale – 27.00
Tax – 1.42
Total OOP – 2.39
Percentage saved – 105%

So I walked out with all of those items and I will get back $20.97 back in rebates. Not bad! I then went across the street to CVS because I needed to use some of my free Adidas coupons and did even better there! I had to bread them up into several transactions because I was starting with $Ø ECBs.  So I started with the Adidas Deodorants.

CVS

3 Adidas Deo – 14.97
3 Colgate 360 Toothbrushes – 11.97
2 Orapik Travel – 5.58
3 Loratadin 5 ct – 11.37
3 Aquafresh Toothpaste – 8.97
2 Tums Quikpak – 9.38
1 Colgate Spongebob Toothbrush – 2.99

Retail Total – 71.13
Coupons and Sale – 68.35
Tax – 1.20
Total OOP – 3.98
Percentage Saved – 105%

Received $62.24 in ECB’s and used $47.48 in ECB’s. I still have a $2.79 and 11.97 to use! That is a profit of $10.78.

So for all of my shopping today I think I did an excellent job!

Walgreens Trip 05-20

May-21-2008 By Ashley

I had to go to Walgreens to use 2 $10 RR that
were expiring today. My DD needed new crayons for school because her
others were broken. Because I did not need anything I just purchased
items that were rebate items. I did very well there as well:

1 box Crayons – 1.99
1 Oral B Toothbrush – 4.49
1 Orajel Plaque Kids mouthwash – 4.99
1 box 1400 pieces copy paper – clearance 7.59 (reg. 14.99)
1 Kiss Nail File – .99 (filler)

Retail Total – $27.45
Coupon and Sale – 27.40
Subtotal – .05
Tax – 1.35
Total OOP – 1.40
Percentage Saved 103%

I purchased the $7 box of multi-purpose paper because it was on
clearance and there is a $5 rebate for it. The toothbrush and the
mouthwash also have a rebate on them. I used two $10 RR and will get
back $14.48 in rebates. That box of 1400 pieces of paper will only
end up costing me 2.59! Not bad! I will be able to print a TON of
coupons with that :) !

Harris Teeter Trip 05-20

May-21-2008 By Ashley

So, I had a few Register Rewards from Walgreens expiring today and
decided to stop by there and Harris Teeter to use them. I asked the
AM at Harris Teeter if they would accept the Register Rewards from
Walgreens because they accept competitors coupons and she consulted
with the Manager. They both agreed they would but I could only use
the one becuase it was a large amount ($10) and I can use one a day
if needed. Here is how I managed to do at Harris Teeter:

6 Frank’s Hot Sauce – sale 9.00 reg. 13.14
4 Barilla Pasta – sale 4.00 reg. 5.56
2 Pork Steaks – clearance 4.20
2 Personal Watermelons – BOGO 4.99 reg. 9.98
1 bunch bananas – 1.25
1 Diet Dr Pepper – 1.39
-(6) FREE Coupon for Frank’s 13.14
-(1) Barilla .50 q doubled 1.00 (I gave him 3 q and he only rang up 1)
-$10 Walgreens RR

Thank you Walgreens!

May-18-2008 By Ashley

So if you read any of my Walgreens post from last week (if not you can read about them HERE) then you know I have a great deal of Register Rewards I need to use up. I decided to go and use a few to get some things I have been needing and did not want to spend the money on to buy them. Here is what I got:

Great goodies free thanks to Walgreens RR Program!

(2) Red Baron Pizzas – sale BOGO 1¢ – $5.00
(2) Gillette 2in1 Body Wash for Men – $3.49 (paid for the first one and the machine spit out a Cat for a free one)
(9) Breathe Right Strips – sale 3.99 (Wags IVC q $3) $8.91
(1) WaterPik Cordless – sale $24.99

Subtotal – 42.39
Tax – 2.62
Total – 45.01
Minus – 36.00 RR
Total OOP – 9.01
Retail Value – 82.86
Percentage Saved – 89%

I went back the next day and stocked up on more Breathe Right Strips becasue DH uses these when he runs and this is what I got:

(5) Breathe Right Strips – 19.95
- 15.00 Wags IVC 3.00 off each
Subtotal – 4.95
Tax – 1.35
Total OOP – 6.30

I picked up the boxes that had two extra in each one so instead of the 12 pk I was able to get 14 pk. That was more for my money. He should have enough strips to last 7 months!

When added up this amounts to 164 coupons used over a 3 day period. I am unsure how many of the coupons used in 14 transactions using 3 different cards. Thanks to some family members I was able to get these great sales. As per the cashier you are only allowed 20 coupons per card per day. So I stayed under that amount. Since I was able to visit two different stores and my husband was with me it allowed us to perform 2 different transactions at each store each day. I did break a couple of the transactions up because of the limit of similar coupons per order. All in all I managed to do some really great deals.
