Harris Teeter 06/23

Jun-23-2008 By Ashley

I went again today to take advantage of the triple coupons. The last time I went the AM gave me 3 coupons for $20/$50 so I thought if I got close to $30 then I would just go ahead and make it the full $50 so that I could just get $20 free. I almost made it on my one transaction but was not quite there. I was about $8 off. My plan was to throw 2 cases of Deer Park water onto the order to reach the $50 but instead I had the most awesome cashier. Like I said I was about $8 shy of my goal and before I reached the $30 mark she took off the $20 coupon!!! I did not have to meet the $30 goal. My total only ended up being $22! All in all I did great! I managed to do 2 transactions and this is what I got:

(4) Chinet Plates – sale 10.00 – .75 q tripled to 2.25 -> 1.00
(1) Lysol Kitchen – sale 1.49 – .75 q tripled to 2.25 -> -.76
(4) Dole Parfait – sale 2/$4 – .75 q tripled to 2.25 -> -1.00
(2) Luzianne Tea – sale 1.59 – .60 q tripled to 1.80 -> -.42
(2) Coke Singles – 2.78
(6) Powerade – sale .89 – .30 q tripled to .90 -> -.06
(4) Deer Park 3 lrt bottle – sale BOGO 1.49 – 1.00/2 mfg q ->.98
(6) Digornio Pizza for One – 22.14 – .75 q tripled to 2.25 -> 8.64
(3) Smart Balance butter – 8.37 – .75 q tripled to 2.25 -> 1.62
(3) Daisy Sour Cream – 4.47 – .50 q multiplied to 1.49 -> FREE
(2) Hebrew National Hot Dogs – sale BOGO 5.48 – .75 q tripled to 2.25 -> .98
(1) Bakery Buttery Rolls – sale 2.19 – on pack $1 q -> 1.19
(2) pks Thick cut Pork Chops -> 5.81
(2) pks Pork Country style ribs -> 5.43
(2) pks country style ribs -> 6.44
(5) Salad Bar Plates – 12.24
Subtotal – 44.87
+ 4.50 (some of my coupons did not multiply as they should have)
- $20/$50 coupon
Subtotal – 29.37
Tax – 2.23
Total OOP – 31.60 (both transactions)

Retail Total – 139.29
Coupons and Sale – 109.92
Percentage Saved – 77%

Transaction 1
Total OOP – 8.88
Coupons and sale – 28.10
Percentage Saved – 76%

Transaction 2
Total OOP – 22.72
Coupons and sale – 81.82
Percentage saved – 78%

My OOP would have been lower but for some reason some of the coupons I used did not multiply completely. Oh well, I still did very well considering. If I would not have purchased the salads off of the bar I would not have spent as much but I decided that if I was going to spend that much on them then I would go ahead and add the meats to give me enough to use the $20/$50. Their bar is just too hard to resist. YUMMY!!!

CVS 06/17

Jun-23-2008 By Ashley

Transaction 1

(2) Hershey’s Cookies and Cream Bars – 1.00

(1) Twizzlers – 1.50

(2) Head and Shoulders Shampoo – 11.98

(1) CVS Band Aid – 1.99

(1) CVS Band Aid – 2.99 (wrong box in the ECB space)

(1) CVS Cotton Swab – 3.99

23.45

.52 Tax

- .50 Hershey’s Coupon .50/2

- 7.39 BOGO Head and Shoulders

- 2.79 ECB

- 11.97 ECB

1.32 OOP

Got back $1.99 Band Aid ECB, $2 ECB Head and Shoulders, $2 Cotton Swab

Transaction 2

(2)  Twizzler’s  - 3.00

(2) Head and Shoulders – 11.98

14.98

.46 Tax

-1.99 ECB

-2.00 ECB

-2.00 ECB

-7.39 BOGO Coupon

2.06 OOP

Got back $Ø ECB’s which threw up a red flag so I reviewed my receipt and saw the limit was reached on my Head and Shoulder’s deal. I then requested a refund on them. The cashier gave me a $2.06 refund in cash and $10.73 on a money card. My actual out of pocket on this transaction was $2.19 ECB which was less than the Twizzler’s cost because I was given the full $7.39 credit on the Head and Shoulders BOGO coupon instead of the $5.99 sale price.

Transaction 3

(2) Oral B Replacement Heads – 11.98

- 5.99 BOGO Coupon

5.99

.81 Tax

6.80 Paid with money card

Money card balance – 3.93

Got back $6 ECB

Transaction 4

(3) Twizzler’s – 4.50

(1) Sally Hansen Nail Pen – 7.99

12.49

.22 Tax

- 6.00 ECB

- 3.93 Money Card

2.78 OOP

Got back $5 ECB Candy, $5 Sally Hansen Nail Pen ECB

Total OOP – $6.16

Total ECB Spent – $26.75

Total ECB Received back – $21.99

ECB Started with – $14.76

ECB Left – $10

Retail Value of products – $66.54

All in all I think I faired pretty well. I ended up spending $6.16 in cash and $4.76 in ECB and still have $10 ECB left for another day. I could have done much better but I picked up the wrong pack of band aids (I may take them back to get the correct ones). This will knock my total down by $3.19 (including tax). Another thing I should have done is broken the final transaction down into two and paid less out of pocket. It would have looked like this:

(1) Sally Hansen Nail Pen – 7.99

.54 Tax

8.53

-6.00 ECB

-2.53 Money Card

$ Ø OOP

Get back $5 ECB and have a balance of $1.40 on the money card. My next transaction I would have needed to add a .50 filler which would have looked like this:

(3) Twizzler’s – 4.50

(2) Hershey’s Bars – 1.00

$5.50

.37 tax

5.87

-5.00 ECB

-.50 Hershey’s coupon

.37 paid for with the money card

Get back $5 ECB and have a balance of $1.03 on the money card. By doing the transactions this way my totals would have looked like this:

Total OOP – 3.38

Total ECB Spent – 31.75

Total ECB Received Back – 21.99

ECB Started With – 14.76

ECB Left with – $5

Balance on money card – 1.03

Not only did I get all that great stuff but I will also be able to send in the Mega Movie Bonus points from each of the Twizzler’s bags and receive a movie ticket worth up to $8.50. Now all I need to do is find more movie ticket points on some CHEAP bags of candy so that I can get three more tickets.

That is the word at the Harris Teeter in Wilson as of today. I can’t belive it! They will be tripling coupons up to .99 maximum 20 coupons per transaction. I have access to four cards so if I wanted to I could do 80 coupons a day!!! I will not do that because I want to have a good repore with the managers and employees but I do intend to take full advantage of this!!!

On the way to my inlaws house I had to stop by CVS to drop off a prescription so while in there I decided to do a transaction. I was able to find a couple of the monthly freebies.

Subtotal – 15.97
- 14.97 ECB from Adidas Deo

Total OOP – 1.07

Received back 1.99 and 13.98 ECB. I lost a whole .07! That darn tax. :) I hope to go back tomorrow and get a few more deals.

Harris Teeter Triples All Week!!!

Jun-20-2008 By Ashley

All week this week Harris Teeter in Wilson will be tripling coupons up to .99! I am so excited! For the past two days I have made my way over there and have been able to get 4 transactions done. I did pretty good yesterday but not great today. We had to buy some party items for my brother’s 21st birthday party tomorrow and those items made for much higher OOP than usual. For some reason yesterday’s coupons did not triple completely?!? I am not sure what was going on there. It made my OOP higher than anticipated. Here is how I did:

    June 19

(1) Mt Olive Organic Kosher Dills – sale 1.24 – mfg q .50 tripled to 1.50 -> -.26

(3) Propel – sale 1.00 – mfg q .50 tripled to 1.50 -> -1.50
(1) Luigi Italian Ice – sale 2.50 – mfg q .50 tripled to 1.50 -> 1.00
(1) Klondike Bar – sale BOGO 2.24 -mfg q .50 tripled to 1.50 -> .74
(3) Dannon Yogurt – 2/$5 – mfg q .75 tripled to 2.25 -> .75
(2) Daisy Sour Cream – 2@1.49 – mfg q .50 tripled to 1.50 -> -.02 (listed as 5/$5 did not ring up as such)
(1) Milk – sale 2.99
(1) Coke – 1.39
Subtotal – 11.21 (should have been 10.21)
Tax – 1.05
Total OOP – 12.26 (should have been 11.26)
ACTUAL OOP – 14.44

Retail Total – 112.18
Coupon and Sale – 98.79
Percentage Saved – 87%

The reason for the Actual OOP is because because the coupons did not tripled as they should have. The Daisy sour cream also rang up full price and was listed on sale 5/$5. My actual OOP was $3.18 higher than it should have been. I am still pretty satisfied.

    June 20

(2) Suddenly Salad – sale BOGO 2.19 – mfg q .50/2 tripled to 1.50 -> .69

(2) Asian Sensations Egg Rolls – 3.49 – mfg q .75 tripled to 2.25 -> 2.48
Subtotal – 54.03
Tax – 2.82
Total OOP – 50.68*

Retail total – 128.59
Sale and coupons – 80.73
Percentage saved – 61%

*I know this does not make sense but it really does. My DH transaction originally had 3 Chinet plates but something happened and they took them off but did not back out the coupons. So he still got 6.75 credit for the coupons on the plates that we did not buy. ??? I did not realize this until I started typing this out.

Food Lion 06/14

Jun-20-2008 By Ashley

I needed to go out for a couple of things and decided to stop in Food Lion and grab a few things. I think I did pretty good for on the fly shopping.

(2) Hershey’s Strawberry Syrup – 3.50
(1) Hershey’s Caramel Suryp – 1.75
(1) Hershey’s Chocolate Syrup – 1.75
(1) Pillsbury 6 ct biscuits – .59
(1) FL Orange Juice – on sale – $2
(1) FL wipes refill – on sale – 1.25
(1) Gerber Bottle – 1.14
Subtotal – 11.98
- $1 off two Hershey’s syrup
- $2 off Gerber accessory (FLIP)
- $1.50 off FL wipes (FLIP)
- $1 off FL OJ (FLIP)
- $1 off Pillsbury biscuits (FLIP)
- (2) $1/2 Hershey’s manu q
Total – 3.48
Tax – .16
Total OOP – 3.64

Coupon and Sale – 9.83
Percentage saved – 74%

I did not realise that the $1 off any 2 Hershey’s syrup was limited to 1 per transaction. If I would have realized it the I would have split it into two transactions to come out $1 less OOP. That is ok though I still got everything I needed.
