Rite Aid 06/30

Jul-2-2008 By Ashley

I must admit this was my first attempt at the Rite Aid deals with Single Check Rebates. I am a bit hesitant about spending a great deal of money OOP to start with but I figured I needed to start sometime. I did rather well and I am glad I chose this day to start. I originally picked up 6 bottles of the Pert Plus (3 regular and 3 Revive) but the register would not accept all of my $3 off q’s for the Revive so I had her back out 2 bottles. I was surprised it accepted on of the $3 q’s for the only bottle I got. BTW that one bottle had a TMF peelie on it so that will be a money maker on top of being a money maker. I say that because the bottle was on sale for $2.50 and I used the $3 off coupon so it was a .50 money maker to start with. Here is what I managed to get:

(1) Coke – 1.29
(2) Diet Dr Pepper (for 2 daughters) – 2.58
(2) Ponds – reg 3.19/pk – sale 2.23 – 4.46
(1) Oxy Shave Cream – reg 6.99 – 5.99
(3) Pantene Beautiful Lengths – reg 4.99/bottle – sale 2.99/bottle – 8.97
(1) Giovianni Shampoo – reg 7.99/bottle – sale 6.99
(3) Pert Plus – reg 4.19/bottle – sale 2.50/bottle – 7.50
(1) Pert Plus Revive – reg 4.19/bottle – sale 2.50
(6) Pampers Wipes – reg 3.49/tub – sale 1.99/tub – 11.94

Total Before Sale – $77.90
Sale Subtotal – $52.22

- (3) $2/2 Pampers manu q – $6.00
- (2) $1.50 Ponds manu q – $3.00
- (3) $2 Pert Manu q – $6.00
- (1) $3 Pert Manu q – $3.00
- (3) $1 Pantene RA Q – $3.00
- (3) $1.50 Pantene manu q – 4.50
- (1) $1 Oxy manu q – $1.00
Coupon Total – $26.50

Total after q’s – $25.72
Tax – 3.52
Total OOP – 29.24

Of this 29.24 I will get back the following SCR:
(2) $2 Ponds – $4
(1) Oxy – 5.99
(1) Giovianni – 6.99

For a total SCH of $16.98 plus I will send in for the TMF rebate on the Pert Shampoo. I am not sure how much I will get back. I will either get back $3.99 (maximum allowed) or $2.50. So even if I say I will get back $2.50 that will be $16.98 plus $2.50 back in my pocket for an ending total of $9.76 OOP. This is not bad considering $3.87 was 20oz drinks for us and $3.52 was tax. If you take subtract the drinks and tax off of the ending total OOP, I will have paid $2.37 for all of the above merchandise!!! Not bad!!! Of course that is not how things work but that is what I like to think about sometimes. My percentage saved on this trip will ultimately be 88% (figuring from retail total to ending OOP of $9.76 [which includes the tax]).

Target 06/30

Jul-2-2008 By Ashley

Target has an awesome deal going on that states if you purchased 3/12pks of specified drinks then you get a free carton of Edy’s Ice Cream. I also got a few Target coupons in Sunday’s paper for $5 off of 3 specified items. Along with other coupons, both peelie and manufacturer, I made out like a bandit. I just wish I would have been able to find 3 more coupons to go with the drinks I purchased. Here is what I did:

(5) Archer Farm Chips – 4.45
(1) Doritos – sale – 1.88
(2) Fritos – sale – 3.76
(10) Huggies travel size – 9.90
(1) Lysol Air Freshner – sale – 5.99
(1) $1 Spot purse for daughter – sale – .50
(1) $1 Spot book for daughter – sale – .50
(1) $1 Spot Index Card Holder – 1.00
(6) Band Aids – 11.82
(5) Band Aids travel size – 4.95
(3) Carefree Pantyliners – 3.06
(2) Edy’s Ice Cream – 6.00
(3) 12pk Sunkist – 7.98
(2) 12pk CF Diet Dr Pepper – 5.32
(1) 12pk 7up – 2.66

Subtotal before q’s – 69.77

-(6) $1 Target Drink IP – 6.00
-(3) Target $5/3 – 15.00
-(5) $1 Target IP Archer Farm Chips – 5.00
-(3) $1 Drink Peelies – 3.00
-(3) Target IP Lays Chips – 3.00
-(1) $5 Lysol Coupon – 5.00
-(10) $1 Huggies coupon – 10.00
-(5) $1 Band Aid coupon – 5.00
-(2) Free Edy’s w/Drink purchase – 6.00

Total after sale and q’s – 11.77
Tax – 1.87
Total OOP – 13.64

I had a total savings of $58.00 or 84%! For the $5/3 Target coupon I chose to get 1 pack of Carefree pantyliners for 1.02/pack and 2 boxes of kids BandAids for 1.97/box which came out to $4.96 which was an overage of .04 per coupon or .12 overage for all of the products! Almost every coupon I used beeped but the cashier pushed them all through. I also got the Archer Farm chips from the snack bar. Those bags were only .89 a bag and the Target IP was for $1 off giving me overage of .11/bag or .55 off of the total bill. Each box of travel size BandAids were .99 and I had manu q for $1 off giving me overage on those as well. The drinks were on sale for 3/$8 but rang up at 2.66 each case or 15.96 for all 6 cases instead of $16 for all six. I was able to print 6 of the $1 off Target IP’s and found 3 $1 peelies which made that $9 off of the drinks as well as 2 cartons of Edy’s Ice Cream free. I managed to get 6 cases of drinks and 2 cartons of Edy’s Ice Cream for $6.96. The ad sale price on this group of items was $22 so I saved $15.04 on that alone. They only had one of the Lysol kits available so I got that for .99 with my $5 coupon and a rain check for 6 more. When I go back to get my other 6 I will use my BOGO coupons as well as my $5 coupons. This will work out to 2.97 for all 6 after coupons but the rain check sale price will be 35.94. I found the Huggies travel packs in the trial section for .99 each pack. I used 10 of the $1 Huggies Bath and Body coupons making these free with overage as well. While in the trial section I grabbed 5 of the trial size BandAid boxes for .99 each and used 5 of my $1 off any BandAid product manu q making those free with overage too. I had more coupons for the Carefree liners and the full size boxes of BandAids but chose not to push my luck as I have heard many people having a hard time at the registers when trying to use the Target q with the manu q. All in all I think I rocked on this trip to Target. I hope to go back and do more deals before the end of the week.

I was sitting here today adding some items to my blog and all of the sudden there was a knock on my door. I was not expecting anyone but I am glad they came! It was the UPS man delivering a great freebie I signed up for a few weeks back. It was my Free Custom Beach Towel compliments of Parliment Cigarettes! I am not a smoker but I sign up for all the great freebies anyway. This thing is nice! It measures 3 ? x 5 ½ feet. Here is what it looks like:

I was not expecting it to be nice because after all it was a freebie but this thing is huge and thick! Not to mention very pretty! I will gladly take this to the pool or lay on the beach with it.
