I went to Walgreens on Sunday because my husband needed some more razors and while there I did several other deals. I can not believe how well I did because I left the family in the car! I started in the Pharmacy and did two transactions there before I shopped the other part of the store. I did four transactions in all.
Transaction #1
Bayer Glucose Meter – $14.99
Nivea Body Wash – 4.99
- $3.00 cat from previous deal
- $1.00 Nivea Coupon
- $14.99 Bayer coupon
Total OOP – 2.27 ($1.28 was tax!)
Received back a $5 cat for the meter and $5 cat for the Nivea body wash.
Transaction #2
Bayer Glucose Meter – $14.99
Nivea Body Wash – 4.99
- $3.00 cat from previous deal
- $1.00 Nivea Coupon
- $14.99 Bayer coupon
Total OOP – 2.27 (1.28 was tax!)
Received back a $5 cat for the meter and $5 cat for the Nivea body wash.
Transaction #3
Neosporin – $4.00
Band Aid – $3.00
Band Aid – $3.00
Suave Kids – $1.67
Suave Kids – $1.67
Suave Kids – $1.67
- $5.00 cat from first transaction
- $5.00 cat from first transaction
- $1.00 Neosporin coupon
- $1.00 Band Aid coupon
- $1.00 Band Aid coupon
- $1.75/3 Suave coupon
Total OOP – 1.26 (1.01 was tax!)
Received back $2 cat for the Suave and $4 for the Neosporin and Band Aid deal. I also still have the $5 cat from the second Bayer meter and $5 from the second Nivea deal.
Transaction #4
Fusion Power razors – $14.49
- $5 cat from second transaction
Total OOP – 10.47 (.98 was tax)
For some reason the register would not allow the cashier to use anymore coupons. She tried to manually enter them and it would not let her?!? I still did good because he needed the razors and I was able to get $5 off. All in all I spent $16.27 OOP ($4.55 of which as tax!) and still have $11 in cats to use at another time. If I would have just gone in and purchased the razors and nothing else without any coupons my total OOP would have been $15.47 that is only a difference of .80! My total savings for all transactions was $176.27 and the retail value of all items purchased was $192.54! My percentage saved was 92%!
