Ok, I am sure you have noticed that my posting has gone down dramatically over the last month. The reason for this is I have had several medical issues come up which has required me to make 4 trips to the ER, 3 trips to my regular doctor and 2 trips to my local Urgent Care. I must go this week to my regular doctor to get referrals to a Neurologist and Cardiologist. I have been doing a lot of praying and hope this will be resolved soon.

What I am going to ask of you all is this, I am in need of guest bloggers until I can get my medical issues resolved. I would like for the posts to include subjects that go along with the theme of my blog.

I am a member of Bzz Agent and they were so gracious to send me coupons for the Chili’s Guiltless Grill Entrees to review and report on. This evening my family and I wanted to go and take advantage of those AWESOME coupons. We do not visit the Chili’s restaurant because they serve alcohol and they allow smoking, which my daughters asthma can not tolerate. I thought this would be a good opportunity to try their food to see if we could start ordering via the to go option. I phoned the take out number to the Rocky Mount, NC location to place the order and explained that I wanted to place a take out order for 4 Guiltless Grill Entrees and I wanted to pay for my order with the free coupons. I was immediately asked what the bottom of the coupon stated to which I replied “Only One Entree Discount Per Coupon” and was put on hold. The manager, Don Wright, came on and asked if he could help me. I was surprised that I was put on with a manager but I told him the same thing I told the first person that answered. His response was that I could only use one coupon per order. I stated that the coupon did not read that way but that I would like to place 4 orders. He responded in the same manner stating that I still could only use one coupon TOTAL! My husband then spoke with him and explained that I received these coupons from a very reputable website and they were requesting that I try the entrees and give my honest review in every venue available to me. His response was that we still could not use more than one coupon and that we would also have to purchase something in order to use it. His response also included ‘Every customer is a review’.  My husband also stated that our honest review will include that his Chili’s does not honor their own food vouchers and the manager still would not honor their coupons. I need to repeat that these coupons do NOT state one per order, customer, transaction, etc. They state “Only one entree discount per coupon.” That means that  I can order 4 entrees in one transaction. I am not trying to misuse these coupons nor am I asking the manager to bend/break the rules in order for me to use these coupons. When Bzz Agent requests you take on a campaign if there is any kind of purchase necessary to be a part of the campaign they will let you know in advance. This is kind of like being a mystery shopper. If you are asked to mystery shop at a restaurant they will reimburse you for set expenses. When you do that shop, if they don’t reimburse for drink, chips, tip, etc. then you don’t order them. This is the same type of situation only you are sent the coupons to use instead of you spending your money and them reimbursing you.

Above is the pamphlet Bzz Agent sent me with the coupons. In it they give suggestions on how to use the coupons and “Bzz” about the entrees. If you can see in the second picture one of the suggestions is to “Go In A Group”.  If the coupons were not to be used in a “group” then the coupons would have stated it on them. 

So I am leaving my honest review on the Chili’s Guiltless Grill Entrees:

“While the pictures look good it is impossible for me to give an honest review on the food. The manager and staff of the Rocky Mount, NC location is something to be desired and, in my opinion, are not accommodating at all towards their frugal customers. I feel it would be in your best interest to steer clear of the Rocky Mount, NC Chili’s Restaurant when trying to use any type of coupon with them.”

One year ago today I started this blog! I feel that I have come a long way since first starting to coupon and I just know that I will learn more as time goes on. I want to thank those of you that read my blog and if it were not for you I would have no reason to post here.

The NFL playoffs are going on right now and we have been watching them. Tonight we decided to throw a “Playoff Party”. The guests were the kids, my husband and myself. The kids really get a kick out of having these family parties and we enjoy it as well. While my husband and I were preparing the food he suggested I take pictures and add them to my blog. He said it is nice to show everyone my deals but why not show them what we do with them as well. He is absolutely right. Here is what we prepared this evening:

Chili with Cornbread

French Bread Pizza (only half shown)

This bread (free with coupons) was HUGE! My husband could only eat one slice of the pizza and the kids only ate half of one slice. Of the four slices we still have one left. This is another complete meal for my husband or two of my kids! We also had some leftover pasta sauce (free after winetag coupon) that was used on the pizza so I decided to take some meatballs out of the freezer (purchased for $2.86 on 12/31 at Walmart) and toss the sauce and meatballs in a pot. I will stick these in the fridge and save them for either Spaghetti and meatballs or Meatball subs. My family loves for me to make the subs with lettuce, tomato and Provalone cheese (YUMMY!).

After I emptied the pasta jar I almost threw it away but I noticed that it had the word Mason on it. I also noticed that the lip will fit the mason lids so I decided to wash the jar and save it for canning or gift giving. My local Big Lots sells the lids for these jars. Once I had a chance to look back the cost of these meals came out to about $6! Not bad for 3 meals for 5 people.

With a new year comes new resolutions. I have made several personal resolutions but I have been reading a blog that has inspired me to try something new. I am doing something that I have never done before and I am going to need lots of encouragement. I am going to try to feed my family of 5 on $2500 this year. Grocery shopping is something that I am really good at and finding great deals are another specialty of mine so having this goal is going to make me even better at it. So now that I have made this resolution for 2009 I am off to post my first deal!

Wow it has been a while since I last posted but it has been BUSY around here! Between kids being sick, school events, Christmas shopping, Christmas decorating and making Christmas gifts I have just not had the chance to post. Sure I have done some pretty awesome deals but by the time my day is over I just want to get in bed and not post. Here is a taste of what I have been creating:

I have made close to a dozen different blocks for teachers, family and friends but did not take pictures of all of them. Unfortunately, my best creations I did not get a chance to take pictures of. This is the first time I have ever made these. My husband drilled the first holes for me because I was to nervous. After he drilled  about 6 to 7 holes he showed me how to. Now I can do them from start to finish on my own! I was super proud of myself once I got the hang of it. I failed to mention that before making these I have never made a bow before.  Thank You Bowdabra! The initial investment was rather pricey but once you break them down it only works out to about $10 a piece. Duty calls. I will be posting more soon.
