I have not posted anything in the past few days because of some family issues. My grandmother was taken to the hospital for the third time in 6 weeks. This time they had to air lift her to UNC Chapel Hill. The doctors there are amazing! The hospital around here made the initial diagnosis but were not equipped enough to perform the surgeries and procedures needed to make her better. UNC doctors went right in did the repairs that needed to be done and she did wonderfully. She is home now and resting comfortably thanks to wonderful doctors and the Lord’s gracious hand. While she had great results my husband’s great aunt did not. She went in for back surgery just two weeks ago and when they opened her up to do the surgery they found quite a few tumors. The doctors then did an MRI and found that she was full of tumors. Her lungs, brain and most of her body was being attacked by cancer. She only lived two weeks beyond that. It was a blessing in disguise because although she did suffer it was not for long. The doctors initially gave her six months to live but she only survived for two weeks. Up until that surgery she was an active person. The good Lord needed a beautiful and commited angel and with her he definitely has that. We will be celebrating her life tomorrow morning. I will mourn her but I know that is not what she would want. The good Lord allowed her to touch many many lives in her 90 years on this earth. Now she will be able to watch over us and touch lives for an eternity in Heaven. Aunt Pearl you will be missed. We love you and thank God Almighty for blessing our lives with you. Until we meet again. Ashley |
